Family Day At Samfa: October In The Open Air

The event runs from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm in the Education Studio, located in the breezeway at 1 Love Street in downtown San Angelo. This month’s theme is October in the Open Air, and activities will introduce visitors to en plein air concepts while encouraging observation and hands-on creativity. Featured art activities include: - family mini paint out - cardboard viewfinders - “friendly forest creatures” (adding forest creatures to printed landscapes) - nature texture rubbings - practice drawing fog - pumpkin perspective drawing Stop by the Concho Clay Studio at any time for free drop-in clay activities. No registration is required. A free children’s book giveaway will be available in SAMFA’s Grand Hall, with books provided by the San Angelo Adult Literacy Council and anonymous donors. Light refreshments will be offered while supplies last. Family Day is free and open to the public. Activities are subject to change, and additional surprise activities may be added during the day.
