Roam Local Events ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our Roam Local Events application and website (the "Service").

a. Information You Provide to Us
When you log in to Roam Local Events via an external service, we may collect:
- Profile Information: Your name, email address, and profile picture as authorized by Google, Facebook, Microsoft, LinkedIn, or X/Twitter.
- User-Generated Content: Event listings, organization profiles, venue and musician submissions, vendor booth listings, reviews, comments, and contact messages you send through the Service.
- Event Interaction Data: Events you view, favorite, RSVP to, or attend.
- Organization Applications: Information submitted when applying to list an organization on the platform.
b. Information We Collect Automatically
- Device Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, and other device-related data.
- Usage and Log Information: Access times, pages viewed, events browsed, and interactions with the Service.
- Location Data: If you grant permission, we use your approximate location to surface nearby events. Location data is used in-session only and is not stored on our servers.
- Push Notification Tokens: A Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token is stored on our servers to deliver push notifications. You can revoke this permission in your device settings at any time.
- Analytics via Microsoft Clarity: We use Microsoft Clarity to collect analytics including session recordings, interaction heatmaps, and usage patterns. For more information see Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and Improve Our Service: Deliver, maintain, and improve the Service, including personalizing your experience and recommending events.
- Event Management: Share your interaction and attendance data with event organizers for RSVP tracking and attendee communications.
- Friends Feature: Show events you have interacted with to other users you have connected with as friends.
- Push Notifications: Deliver notifications for events, friend activity, and Service updates (with your permission).
- Gamification: Manage badges, points, and leaderboards tied to your account activity.
- Real-Time Features: Enable real-time notifications and messaging via SignalR.
- Communicate with You: Send important notifications, updates, and promotional content (you can opt out at any time).
- Security: Maintain the security of the Service and protect against unauthorized access.
- Analytics: Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve features.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it as follows:
- Event Organizers: When you interact with an event (view, favorite, RSVP, attend), we share your name, email, and interaction details with the event organizer for event management purposes.
- Other Users (Friends Feature): Events you interact with may be visible to users you have connected with as friends.
- External Login Providers: Identity information is exchanged with Google, Facebook, Microsoft, LinkedIn, or X solely to verify your identity and enable sign-in.
- Service Providers: We share data with vendors including hosting (Microsoft Azure), push notifications (Firebase/Google), and analytics (Microsoft Clarity). These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Legal Compliance and Protection: We may share information when required by law or to protect our rights, prevent fraud, or ensure user safety.
4. What We Don't Do
- We Do Not Share Data with Data Brokers: We do not sell or share your personal information with data brokers.
- We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information.
- We Do Not Engage in Discriminatory Practices based on your personal information.
- We Do Not Share Information Without Purpose: Any sharing is limited to specific, disclosed purposes.
5. How We Protect Your Information
We use HTTPS/TLS for all data in transit and rely on platform-level security (Apple Keychain / Android Keystore) to protect tokens on your device. While we take reasonable precautions, no system is completely secure.
6. Your Choices
- Location: Deny or revoke location access in your device settings at any time.
- Push Notifications: Disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.
- Access and Update Your Information: Update your profile through account settings or by contacting us.
- Opt-Out of Marketing: Follow unsubscribe instructions in communications or adjust notification settings in the App.
- Account Deletion: Request deletion of your account by contacting us. Requests are processed within 30 days.
- Event Organizer Communications: Once organizers have received your information, their communications are governed by their own privacy policies.
7. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service integrates with third-party services including Google, Facebook/Meta, Microsoft, LinkedIn, and X/Twitter for authentication, and Firebase for push notifications. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
8. Children's Privacy
Roam Local Events is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy with an updated effective date.
